An elementary and middle school teacher for 16 years, Rachel now serves as the Technology Integrationist for the Rock Valley Community School District. She works with teachers and students in preschool through 12th grades, providing technology integration support, instructional coaching, and professional development. Because of her years in the classroom, Rachel takes great care in providing teachers with purposeful tools, strategies, and training to implement 21st century skills successfully into the curriculum. Using proven, research-based methods and the latest web 2.0 and 3.0 tools, it is her goal to instill in people a joy and passion for learning.

Rachel has worked in myriad leadership roles, including being named an Intel lead teacher, serving on the Building Leadership Team, superintendent's advisory committee, district technology committee, and as a mentor teacher. She has presented technology and internet safety to a wide variety of community and district groups and provides online professional development webinars through edWeb.net. Additionally, she is a writer for BigDeal Media's semi-annual Big Book of Technology and is a contributor for Mackin Educational Resources. She has played an active role in the successful implementation of the district's 1:1 initiative, now in its third year.
