Beyond the Textbook

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Where we are with respect to "replacing" or "redefining" the textbook and the roles the venerable textbook had in 19th and 20th century K-12's.  This open-ended presentation is more a discussion and practice in vision.  This is not a session of a hundred hyperlinks and websites cobbled together for a course.  This is not about "find your own adventure" learning resources.  It could be about flipping...or not.  It should be a fun discussion. Should we ask Siri or Watson?

The goal is for teachers and administrators to begin to envision a future resource that the 1:1 and mobile devices might enable. Translating the textbook of the last century into the equivalent in a machine displayable form is a marginal improvement. This session will look at the gradient from the current to the possible. The hashtag will be #i11ibeyond
