Manson Northwest Webster’s Journey toward Anytime Anywhere Learning
http://www.k12.com/ using their curriculum as a base, think digital textbook
Blackboard allows us to manipulate curriculum to meet our needs, customized for each classroom
This is our first step towards a customized learning environment for each student

Algebra a blended/flipped environment
Students will have videos to watch and online content to study on their own time.  Class time will be devoted to helping student on assignments/projects.
The purpose of “flipping” a class is to make the instructor more available to help students when they have questions and need help.
Algebra is a self-paced class, graded on competency.  Our competent mark is 70%.  Meaning that if a student earns lower than a 70% on a test or quiz, they will meet with the instructor and discuss where they are struggling and how mistakes can be fixed. New learning will take place before a student will be re-assessed.
Benefits and reasons why we made this move:
better identify struggling students
must meet a mastery level of learning
self paced, Differentiating and meeting the needs of each student like that is extremely difficult to do in a “regular” direct instruction classroom environment.
develop better work ethic
